Biography of Alina Raikova

Alina Raikova is a Kazakhstani biathlete, born on August 14, 1991, in Schuchinsk. She comes from a family of educators, with her mother, Lyudmila, being a teacher and her father, Sergey Nikolaevich, being a biathlon coach. From an early age, Alina was involved in skiing under the guidance of her father. At the age of 13, she started training in modern pentathlon and biathlon at the SDYUSHOR in Schuchinsk, under the coach Alexander Morozov. After achieving the title of Master of Sports, she fully transitioned to biathlon and currently represents CSKA with the rank of sergeant.

In 2010, Alina became a member of the Kazakhstan national team and has since been a prominent figure in the sport. She participated in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi and achieved outstanding success in the 2015 and 2017 Winter Universiades, where she won gold medals. These achievements have solidified her status as a Master of Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Sporting Career

Alina Raikova made her debut in the World Cup in the beginning of the 2012/2013 season in Ostersund. Her best result in the World Cup was a 20th place finish in the sprint event in Canmore in 2016.

National Competitions

In addition to her international success, Alina has also excelled in national competitions. She became the national champion in the mass start events in 2014 and 2017.

International Competitions

At the 2012 Junior World Championships in Kontiolahti, Alina finished sixth in the individual race, showcasing her potential at a young age. In the 2016 World Championships in Oslo, she achieved an eighth place finish in the relay as part of the Kazakhstan team. In the 2017 World Championships in Hochfilzen, she placed 29th in the individual race.

In the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, Alina participated in the individual race, finishing in 65th place.
