Childhood and Early Life
Maria Mitak Al-Aswadi, known by her stage name ALMARY, was born on June 14, 2004, in Minsk, Belarus. Growing up with her older sister Madina (born April 2003), ALMARY often shies away from discussing her personal life, but her Instagram account reveals childhood photos that showcase her resemblance to her father, whose identity remains a mystery.
Family and Education
ALMARY's mother, Tatiana Minkova, was born in March 1972 and attended schools in Minsk. Her grandmother, Stanislava Kostyukevich (née Tatarinovich), was also a Minsk native. Madina, like her younger sister, has pursued a career in the arts, working as a graphic designer, model, and artist.
After completing high school, ALMARY briefly worked in an undisclosed field before embracing her musical aspirations. As a student at Nobel laureate Zh. I. Alferov Gymnasium No. 42 in Minsk, she participated in a literary competition in 2020 dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the victory in World War II.
Musical Journey
ALMARY's songwriting talent emerged at a young age. In 2022, she began sharing her original lyrics on social media. Her breakthrough came on TikTok, where she posted short demos and snippets of her songs. The snippet of "Doveray Mne" ("Trust Me") garnered a significant following.
Capitalizing on this success, ALMARY released a snippet of "Do Skorykh Vstrech" ("See You Soon") on guitar in January 2024, which quickly went viral, amassing millions of views. The official release followed on February 16th, but divided listeners, as the full version departed from the acoustic balladry of the snippet.
Current Projects and Personal Life
ALMARY remains focused on her music and social media presence. While she has teased the release of a new track, she has yet to announce a full-length album. Her personal life remains a mystery, with only occasional glimpses of her close relationship with her sister shared on social media.
