Early Life and Career
Álvaro Tejero Sacristán was born in Madrid, Spain on July 20, 1996. He began his football career in 2004 with Collado Villalba before joining Real Madrid's youth academy in 2005.

Progress Through the Real Madrid Ranks
Tejero made steady progress through the Real Madrid youth system. In 2015, he made his debut for Real Madrid C, the club's second reserve team, in the fourth tier of Spanish football.
Debut for Real Madrid Castilla
Tejero was promoted to Real Madrid Castilla, the club's direct reserve team, in 2015. He made his debut in the Segunda División B, the third tier of Spanish football, on August 22.
First Team Appearance
On December 2, 2015, Tejero made his first appearance for the Real Madrid first team in a Copa del Rey match against Cádiz CF. He came on as a late substitute for Pepe.
Breakthrough Season
In the 2016-17 season, Tejero became a regular for Real Madrid Castilla, missing only 12 minutes of the entire campaign. He scored his first goal for the team in February 2016 against Real Unión.
La Liga Debut
Tejero made his La Liga debut on April 26, 2017, replacing Raphaël Varane in a 6-2 home victory over Deportivo de La Coruña.
