Amelia Maltepe is a transgender model from Bangladesh who has gained worldwide attention for her bold statement of competing for the title of Miss World. Born into a strict Muslim family in Bangladesh, Amelia, previously known as Adesh, underwent a gender transition to become the beautiful woman she is today.

At the age of 23, Amelia now lives with her 27-year-old boyfriend, Charles Dubuc, who fully supports her journey. Although she has not undergone gender confirmation surgery, Charles proudly introduces Amelia as his girlfriend and considers their relationship to be special. His family has also been accepting of Amelia, and there have been no conflicts after their initial meeting.

Growing up in Bangladesh, Amelia faced challenges as there was limited acceptance for individuals exploring their gender identity. She invested in procedures such as breast implants and laser hair removal, spending £6,000 and £2,000, respectively. As a result, Amelia emerged as a beautiful and confident young woman, eager to pursue a career in modeling.

Unfortunately, Amelia faced backlash from readers when her photos were published in various publications, including the "Toronto Sun." Some individuals expressed anger and called for the exclusion of transgender models in the industry. Disheartened by this response, Amelia decided to focus on new projects. She announced her aspirations of becoming Miss World.

Last year, Canadian transgender model Jenna Talackova successfully fought a legal battle, opening the doors for transgender women to participate in beauty pageants. However, it remains unclear how Amelia plans to pursue her dreams of competing in Miss World. Winning regional and national contests is typically a prerequisite for entering the pageant, and Amelia's name does not currently appear on any upcoming competition lists.
