Early Life and Musical Beginnings

Ameli Berrabah, born on April 22, 1984, in Aldershot, Hampshire, England, grew up in a Muslim household as the middle child of three sisters. From a young age, she exhibited a passion for music and pursued formal training at the Academy of Contemporary Music.

Boo2 and "Top of the Pops" Success

Together with her younger sister Samia, Berrabah formed the duo Boo2, which gained significant popularity and won the "Top of the Pops - Magazine's Star Search 2003" competition. Despite their success, Berrabah never anticipated the life-changing opportunity that lay ahead.

Joining Sugababes

In 2005, Berrabah was invited to join the renowned girl group Sugababes as the third vocalist. She contributed to the group's album "Taller in More Ways" and became a full-fledged member in 2006. Berrabah played a key role in recording their greatest hits album, "Overloaded: The Singles Collection."

Touring and Album Releases

In 2007, Sugababes embarked on a European tour, followed by the release of their album "Change" in September. 2008 marked the release of their final album, "Catfights and Spotlights."

Personal Life Struggles

Despite her professional accomplishments in 2007 and 2008, Berrabah faced challenges in her personal life. Her boyfriend, Freddie Fuller, was arrested in 2007 for allegedly assaulting her sister, Samia. Following a cleared investigation, Berrabah ended the relationship. In the same year, Berrabah herself was involved in a bar fight and was arrested. In 2008, she faced another arrest for assault, property damage, and disorderly conduct.

Current Endeavors

Despite her past struggles, Berrabah continues her music career while navigating her personal life. In 2009, it was reported that she was in a relationship with Algerian hockey player Karim Kerbouche.
