During his teenage years, Pepe Aguilar had a passion for rap and rock music, even forming his own rock band called 'Equs'. Although the band did not last long, they managed to record their first album. Pepe was heavily influenced by the music of 'Pink Floyd' and 'The Who' during this time.

Producer and Solo Career

In the 1990s, Pepe Aguilar decided to venture into producing and helped release several songs for Lupita D'Alessio, Julieta Venegas, and other Latin American artists. However, Pepe also pursued his own musical career and released his album 'Por Mujeres Como Tú' in 1998. The album received warm reception and spent 52 weeks on the 'Billboard' charts, selling over 2 million copies worldwide.

Award-Winning Success

In 1999, Pepe Aguilar released the album 'Por Una Mujer Bonita', which went on to win a Latin Grammy. Throughout his career, Pepe received a total of 9 Grammy nominations. In 2002, he became the first Mexican musician to perform at the legendary Hollywood Bowl and later became the first Latin American to perform at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles.

Philanthropy and Fashion

On September 15, 2003, in commemoration of the anniversary of the Mexican War of Independence, Pepe Aguilar was honored with the keys to Los Angeles, a recognition previously bestowed upon his father. In 2009, Pepe ventured into the fashion industry and successfully launched his clothing line, which is sold in various stores across America. While the collection brought financial success, Pepe's main focus was on giving back to his country. He used the proceeds from clothing sales to support an environmentally friendly agricultural project that significantly helped rural communities in Mexico.
