Early Career and Club Football
Emmanuel Ludovic Assemoassa, a Togolese defender, kicked off his football journey with Lyon's youth team in 1999, appearing in 21 matches. In 2001, he joined Clermont, where he became a regular, making 133 appearances. Assemoassa's European adventure continued in Spain, playing for Murcia, Granada 74, and Atletico Ciudad. In 2010, he landed at Limonest Saint-Didier.
International Debut and Major Tournaments
Assemoassa made his Togo debut on August 17, 2005, in a match against Morocco. He represented his country at the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, featuring in two matches against Cameroon (2-0) and Angola (3-2). Despite their efforts, Togo finished last in their group, losing all three matches.
Assemoassa was among the 23 players selected by Otto Pfister for the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany. He played a single match against South Korea (2-1), but unfortunately, he was forced to leave the field in the 62nd minute due to a knee injury. The injury required surgery in Frankfurt. Togo once again finished last in their group, losing all three matches.
