Career in Journalism
Goodman embarked on her journalism career shortly after graduating from Harvard. She began working as a radio producer and reporter, covering stories primarily focused on social justice and human rights. In 1996, she co-founded the independent media outlet Democracy Now!, where she currently serves as the host and primary anchor.

Democracy Now! is a daily news hour broadcast on Pacifica Radio, focusing on issues such as the peace movement, antiglobalization, and corporate media accountability. Goodman has consistently used the platform to advocate for marginalized voices and challenge mainstream media narratives.
Human Rights Investigations

In 1991, she and colleague Allan Nairn reported on the Santa Cruz Massacre in East Timor, where Indonesian troops killed over 250 people in a peaceful demonstration. In 1998, Goodman and Jeremy Scahill co-produced a documentary investigating the role of Chevron Corporation in the conflict between the Nigerian government and local farmers displaced by the company's oil operations.
