Biography of Amy Lee

Amy Lynn Lee, the lead vocalist of the band "Evanescence" meaning "disappearance" in English, was born on December 13, 1981 in Riverside, California. Amy became a professional pianist and also learned to play the guitar from her father, John Lee, a well-known radio DJ in Little Rock.

Since her childhood, Amy had dreams of becoming an actress and participated in acting workshops and school plays. She recalls one instance where she pretended to be dead on the floor, with her lips covered in lipstick, but her parents only laughed. Amy attended Pulaski Academy until 2000 and then moved to Los Angeles.

At the age of 6, Amy wrote her first song dedicated to her younger sister, Bonnie, who passed away at the age of three from an unknown illness. Amy's creativity extended beyond writing and performing her own songs. She also writes music for films and participates in various diverse projects.

During her school years, Amy was very unhappy with her appearance, including her hair color, eye color, and her cute facial features such as dimples and chubby cheeks. She always tried to change them using white makeup, black hair dye, and blue contact lenses. Amy, however, approaches her clothing choices without much enthusiasm and believes it is unacceptable to spend a lot of money on clothes. Therefore, most of her wardrobe consists of thrift store finds. However, Amy adds her unique touch to each item using pins, scissors, and other accessories. For music videos, she usually purchases custom-made clothing, which does affect her budget.

As for Amy Lee's personal life, her artistic talent played a role in one of her relationships. In her teenage years, Amy met a guy named Ben Moody, who was amazed by her piano playing. Their subsequent romance turned into a creative partnership. In 2003, Amy met Shaun Morgan, a member of the band "Seether," and they collaborated on the song "Broken." Their relationship lasted for two years.

On January 5, 2005, after a concert in Washington, Amy Lee attempted suicide by taking a large dose of sleeping pills. Luckily, she was saved. She never explained the reason behind her actions. Amy Lee is a talented singer with her own weaknesses, preferences, likes, and dislikes. She loves chocolate with coconut, driving, and old films. She dislikes fast food, politics, and especially "pop" music. Her life motto is "Expect the unexpected!" and her life philosophy is "Love yourself."
