Early Life and Career Beginnings

Andrea Blythe Matichak, known professionally as Andi Matichak, was born on May 3, 1994, in Framingham, Massachusetts. Her Croatian, German, and Swedish heritage contributed to her unique upbringing. Despite being born in Framingham, she spent her childhood in a Chicago suburb.

Matichak attended St. Francis High School in Wheaton, Illinois, where she excelled in sports. During her senior year, she traveled to Greece to pursue modeling during summer break. This transformative experience led her to connect with a talent agent who encouraged her to explore acting.

Upon returning, she took acting classes, graduated high school a year early, and declined a full soccer scholarship to the University of South Florida. She then moved to New York City to pursue modeling and acting.

Entrance into the Film Industry

Matichak made her acting debut in 2013 with a role in the short-lived television series "666 Park Avenue." She also appeared in the short film "Angelfish" before landing a pivotal role in the 2018 slasher film "Halloween," a direct sequel to the 1978 original.

Her audition process for "Halloween" consisted of recording a self-tape and submitting it to the studio. After a Skype interview with director David Gordon Green, she was cast as Laurie Strode's granddaughter, Allyson.

Matichak credits her experience working alongside Jamie Lee Curtis and Judy Greer in "Halloween" as transformative for her career. She learned valuable lessons both on and off the set, which she applied to her subsequent roles, including the lead in the 2021 thriller "Son."

Personal Life and Hobbies

Matichak is a private person who keeps her personal life out of the public eye. Her Instagram account primarily features work-related content, with occasional glimpses of her leisure activities, such as reading Stephen King novels on the beach or showcasing her beloved pet sheepdog, Greta.

Her sister, Madelyn, is a communications consultant with connections to the fashion world, having worked with brands like Cushnie, Miu Miu, and Calvin Klein. Her family members, including her parents, Terry and Deon, and grandparents, Rita-Marie Peterson, often make appearances in her sister's Instagram posts.

Matichak is an avid music enthusiast and never leaves home without her headphones. She often listens to John Carpenter's music to prepare for work or evoke specific emotions.

Recent Projects and Future Endeavors

Matichak continues to balance her acting career with modeling. She starred in the military drama "Foxhole" (2021) and the slasher sequel "Halloween Kills" (2021), with a third installment, "Halloween Ends," slated for release.

The scale and ambition of the "Halloween" franchise have captivated Matichak, who is excited to continue her involvement in the series. She remains open to exploring new and challenging roles, both in the horror genre and beyond.
