Early Life and Education

Lily Rabe was born on June 29, 1982, in New York City to actress Jill Clayburgh and playwright David Rabe. She attended Hotchkiss School, a boarding school in Connecticut, and Northwestern University in Illinois. Rabe has an older brother named Michael. Tragically, her mother passed away from lymphoma in November 2010.

Stage and Film Career

Rabe made her Broadway debut in the revival of "Steel Magnolias" in 2005 and later appeared in "An American Plan" in 2008. She received critical acclaim for her performance in Laura Wade's debut play "Colder Than Here" at MCC Theater in 2005.
