Early Life and FamilyBorn on May 9, 1895, André de Kruijff hailed from a family of entrepreneurs. His father, Dirk Willem de Kruijff, established the "Linoleum Krommenie" company in the early 1900s.
Ajax Career
De Kruijff joined the legendary Ajax Amsterdam in 1917, but only broke into the first team in 1920. As a midfielder, he played 94 league matches for Ajax, scoring three goals.
International Appearance
In 1921, De Kruijff earned his only cap for the Dutch national team. He made his debut in a friendly against Switzerland on March 26th, which the Netherlands won 2-0.
Later Years
After leaving Ajax in 1926, De Kruijff played his final match against Excelsior in 1927. He retired from football at the age of 32.
Legacy
