Early Life and Education

Born in 1952, Beal's entrepreneurial spirit manifested early on. His family lived in Lansing, Michigan, and during high school, he worked odd jobs such as installing home security systems and repairing televisions. After graduating high school, Beal attended the University of Michigan, where he later earned a degree.

Real Estate and Banking

At the age of 19, Beal purchased a $6,500 house as a birthday present. He rented it out for $119 per month, marking his first entrepreneurial venture. In 1981, Beal purchased his first home construction project in New Jersey, recognizing its potential profitability. His successful real estate development led him to become a major construction contractor in the region.

In 1988, Beal founded his first bank in Dallas, initially known as Allegiance Savings and Loan Association. It was later renamed Beal Financial. Today, Beal Financial comprises divisions such as Beal Bank, Beal Bank Nevada, CSG Investments, Inc., Loan Acquisition Corporation, and Beal Mortgage Services.

International Expansion and Acquisitions

In the early 1990s, Beal Financial expanded its operations into Mexico and Russia, but both ventures proved unsuccessful. In 2000, Beal Bank purchased approximately $1 billion in commercial loans from SBA to legal entities based in Palau and the Virgin Islands. The bank also acquired debt obligations of struggling airlines, generating an estimated $70 million annually in bond profits.

Beal is a married father of six children. As of 2008, his net worth was estimated at $1.5 billion, ranking him among the wealthiest Texans.
