Biography of Andrey Karyaka

Early Life and Career in Ukraine

Andrey Karyaka is a professional football player who currently plays for the club "Saturn" Ramenskoye. He was born on September 21, 1977, in Dnipro, Ukraine. From a young age, Andrey showed a passion for football and began playing in local street matches. At the age of seven, he started training at the DYuSSh-12 sports school under the guidance of coach V.M. Nikulin. In 1995, after completing his training at the Olympic Reserve School in Dnipro, Andrey moved to Zaporizhia and started playing for the local team "Metalurh".

Professional Career in Russia

Andrey Karyaka made his debut in the Ukrainian Premier League on March 23, 1996, playing for "Metalurh" against his hometown club, "Dnipro". Despite the loss, Andrey scored his first goal in an official match on November 13, 1996, in a Ukrainian Cup game against "Karpaty". In 1998, he joined the Ukrainian club "CSKA Kyiv" and participated in the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup qualifiers.

In the summer of 2000, Andrey Karyaka was invited to play for "Krylya Sovetov" in Samara, Russia. He quickly became a key player for the team, showcasing his skills as a left midfielder. In the 2002 season, Andrey became the top scorer for "Krylya Sovetov" with 12 goals in 28 matches. The following year, he scored his 29th goal for the club, becoming their all-time leading goalscorer in Russian championships.

Move to Benfica and National Team Career

In 2005, due to financial difficulties faced by "Krylya Sovetov", Andrey Karyaka was sold to Lisbon-based club "Benfica" for a transfer fee of 2 million euros. He made his debut for "Benfica" on July 10, 2005, and was named the best player in his first match. However, he faced challenges in adapting to the team and struggled for regular playing time. In January 2006, Andrey gave an interview expressing his frustration with life in Portugal, which led to his temporary suspension from training by the club. Despite interest from Russian clubs, Andrey decided to stay with "Benfica".

On October 22, 2006, Andrey Karyaka scored his first goal for "Benfica" in a match against "Estrela Amadora". He continued to make appearances for the team, including in the UEFA Champions League. In 2008, he returned to Russia and signed with the club "Saturn" Ramenskoye.

International Career

Andrey Karyaka had the opportunity to play for both the Ukrainian and Russian national teams. He received an invitation to join the Ukrainian national team in May 2001 but chose to represent Russia instead. He made his debut for the Russian national team on August 16, 2001, in a match against Greece. Throughout his international career, Andrey participated in various tournaments, including the UEFA European Championship in 2004.
