Andrei Konovalov: An Exclusive Interview

Andrei Konovalov, captain of Moscow's Torpedo soccer club and four-time Russian Premier League champion, recently spoke to Sobesednik.ru about his injury, the team's recent defeat, and other football-related topics.

Injury and Team Performance

"I sustained an unfortunate groin injury," Konovalov stated. "It's difficult to predict my recovery time, but unfortunately, it won't be a quick fix."

Despite Konovalov's absence, Torpedo has been struggling for points. After two impressive away wins against Shinnik and Dynamo, the team drew with Gazovik and lost to Ural.

"I think our luck has run out slightly," Konovalov said. "In Yaroslavl and Bryansk, we scored early, which made things easier. But against Ural, we had difficulty scoring despite creating chances."

Analysis of Ural

Konovalov described Ural as "a solid team" that played defensively in the second half, making it challenging for Torpedo to penetrate their defense.

Despite Torpedo's growing deficit to the top eight teams, Konovalov remained optimistic. "The bigger the gap, the harder it will be," he admitted. "But we're not giving up. There are still many games to play, and we will keep fighting to reach the top eight."
