Biography of Andrei Tashkov
Early Life and CareerAndrei Tashkov, a Russian actor, was born on December 8, 1950, in Moscow. He is the son of actor and film director Evgeny Tashkov and actress Ekaterina Savinova. Andrei graduated from the Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute in 1978 and began his career at the Maly Theatre, where he appeared in the play "Mamure." He was later accepted into the Central Academic Theatre of the Soviet Army, where he performed in plays such as "The Idiot" (as Myshkin), "Common Soldiers," and "Macbeth."
Work at the Moscow Pushkin Drama Theatre
In 1987, Andrei Tashkov joined the troupe of the Moscow Pushkin Drama Theatre. He remained there until 1999 when he decided to leave. His reasons for leaving were low-quality productions, inadequate payment, and excessive workload. Tashkov believed that his life was consumed by his work, and he no longer found meaning in stepping on stage. During his time at the Pushkin Theatre, he gave his highest rating of five points to only two or three productions, out of a repertoire of 28.
Film Career
Andrei Tashkov made his film debut in 1973 with a small role in his father's movie "Children of Vanushin." However, his breakthrough came with the thriller "Detective" in 1979, where he played the lead role of a young police officer, Zhenya Kulik. He gained fame and recognition for his brilliant performance in this film. In 1983, Andrei Tashkov collaborated with his father once again in the adaptation of Fyodor Dostoevsky's famous novel, "The Adolescent," where he portrayed the character of Arkady Dolgoruky.
Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Tashkov appeared in several notable films, including "Field Guard Mozzhukhin," "Dear Edison!," "The Heart is Not a Stone," "Lawlessness," and "The Advocate."
Personal Life
Andrei Tashkov has been married multiple times but has experienced short-lived marriages. In 1993, he married actress Elena Skorokhodova, whom he worked with at the Pushkin Theatre. They had a son named Ivan in 1996. However, their marriage also ended in divorce. Andrei maintained a good relationship with his ex-wife and continues to support his son.
Current Work
After leaving the Pushkin Theatre, Andrei Tashkov found success in the new Russian film industry. He has portrayed various characters in a wide range of films and TV series. While audiences may be more familiar with his thoughtful and philosophical roles, Tashkov has also taken on roles as a criminal and a serial killer. In addition to his film work, he has been involved in dubbing and voice-over work for many years.
In 2010, after a long hiatus, Tashkov reunited with his father in the biographical film "Three Women of Dostoevsky," where he played the role of Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky. He also appeared in the historical drama "Boris Godunov" in 2011, portraying the character of Patriarch.
