Early Life and Career

Born in Hong Kong, Andy Lau began his career in the entertainment industry in 1981. He made his breakthrough role on the television series "Hong Kong 1941" (1982), which catapulted him to stardom in Hong Kong. In the same year, he made his film debut in "Once Upon a Rainbow."

Box Office Success

Lau became one of Hong Kong's most commercially successful film actors in the 1990s, starring in a string of hit films such as "Lee Rock" (1991), "Full Alert" (1997), and "Infernal Affairs" (2002). His performance in "Infernal Affairs" won him the Hong Kong Film Award for Best Actor.

Beijing Paralympics

In 2008, Lau was chosen to perform the official theme song, "Everyone is No. 1," for the Beijing Paralympic Games. The song became a symbol of hope and inspiration for the athletes and viewers alike.

Personal Life

During the 1980s, Lau dated Taiwanese actress Yu Kexin. Their relationship was later revealed by Yu in her 2004 memoir. After breaking up with Yu, Lau married Malaysian singer Carol Chu in a secret ceremony on June 23, 2008.
