Biography of Angel Haze

Angel Haze is an American rapper and songwriter who has worked with 'Universal Republic' and 'Island' labels. She was born Wilson in Michigan and was raised in accordance with the norms of the Apostolic faith. In July 2012, Angel Haze released her EP 'Reservation' online. That same year, Haze participated in the project 'BET Hip-Hop Award's Cypher'. Later, she collaborated on the remix of Dizzy Wright's 'SmokeOut Conversations' album, specifically on the track 'Can't Trust Em'.

In the same year, Haze released her own mixtape called 'Classick' where she recorded a new version of Eminem's 'Cleanin' Out My Closet'. According to one critic, John Downey, Haze's rendition of Slim Shady's classic song sounded almost better than the original. Shortly after the release of her mixtape, the label 'Universal Republic Records' closed down, and Angel Haze, along with several other artists, had to move under the wing of 'Republic Records'.

Angel Haze

On December 9th, it was officially announced that Angel Haze would be nominated for the 'Sound of 2013' award. On January 3rd, 2013, she released the track 'On the Edge', which was clearly directed towards another well-known American singer-rapper, Azealia Banks. Despite the aggressive style of the song and the scandal that ensued after its release (or perhaps thanks to it), 'On the Edge' was well received by the masses. Haze became angered by Banks' unfavorable comments about her work, particularly the track 'New York'. In response, Banks quickly released a retaliatory offensive track called 'No Problems'.

Angel Haze then responded to Banks with her song 'Shut the Fuck Up' and announced that she would no longer argue with Azealia Banks. Banks herself was forced to temporarily forget about her conflict with Haze, as one of her tweets managed to anger almost the entire American LGBTQ+ community.

Currently, Wilson resides in Springfield, Virginia. She continues to actively work on new projects, having participated in the recording of four compilations and appeared in two music videos.
