Early Life and Career

Angelines was born and raised in Spain. She tried to pursue a career as an actress in her homeland but unfortunately did not achieve much success. In 1947, she moved to Mexico and although she never became a full citizen of the country, she spent the rest of her days there, except for occasional international tours and a short period of work in Cuba.

Throughout her career, Angelines played leading roles in 14 films, including the classic black comedy "El Esqueleto de la señora Morales" in 1960. In 1964, she portrayed the character of Sara, the main antagonist of Father Sebastián in the film "El padrecito". At the age of 27, she landed the lead role in the series "Cadenas de Amor". However, it was her role in "El Chavo del Ocho" that brought her true fame and established her as one of the best actresses in Mexican cinema.

Collaboration with Roberto Gómez Bolaños

Angelines got the role in "El Chavo del Ocho" almost by chance. A friend of hers, Ramón Valdés, informed her about the series when she was looking for work. She also had the opportunity to work with Roberto Gómez Bolaños, also known as "Chespirito," again a few years later in the show "El Chapulín Colorado". The roles in "El Chavo del Ocho" and "El Chapulín Colorado" helped Angelines achieve her lifelong dream of recognition. Chespirito's fame extended beyond Mexico and eventually reached Spain.

Last Years and Death

In 1974, Angelines appeared in her last telenovela and then focused on working with Bolaños. However, in 1979, most of Bolaños' projects were discontinued, leaving Fernandez with only sporadic roles and tour performances as Doña Clotilde. She continued to work with Roberto until 1992.

Throughout her life, Angelines was a heavy smoker, and ultimately, this harmful habit took its toll. In 1994, she passed away from cancer. Although there is no exact information about her illness, most sources agree that it was throat cancer. Angelines Fernandez was laid to rest in Mexico City.
