Perrins Pettidjon was an American actress and burlesque star. She was best known for her role as Shanna in the episode "The Gamesters of Triskelion" of the popular science fiction series "Star Trek".

Perrins was born as Dorothy in Los Angeles, California and grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Early Career

In 1967, Perrins made her film debut under the pseudonym "Angelika" in movies such as "The Touch of Her Flesh" and "The Love Rebellion". However, her breakthrough came with the release of Elvis Presley's film "Clambake" in the same year. She also auditioned for the role of Nova in the 1968 film "Planet of the Apes", but the role went to Linda Harrison.

Career Highlights

In 1969, Perrins played the lead role in the science fiction erotic comedy "The Curious Female". She also appeared in supporting roles in films such as Glenn Ford's "Heaven with a Gun" in the same year.

Perrins gained recognition for her guest appearances in popular TV shows of the 1960s, including "Star Trek", "Mister Terrific", "The Green Hornet", "Batman", "Love, American Style", and "The Girl From U.N.C.L.E".

Burlesque Career

In the 1970s, Perrins worked in the burlesque shows of Las Vegas, where she excelled. She appeared in Barry Ashton's "Burlesque Show" in 1970 and later joined the project "Vive Paris Vive" at the Aladdin hotel. Additionally, she performed in casino shows and at the Maxim hotel.

Later Career and Personal Life

In 1978, Perrins collaborated with Bob Mitchell and Miss Nude Universe in the "True Olde Tyme Burlesque" project at the Joker Club.

In 1979, she was featured in a series of photographs by Robert Scott Hooper for Playboy magazine as part of "The Girls of Las Vegas" series. By this time, Perrins had gained popularity, especially among Star Trek fans, and the photos captured her in the costume from her famous episode.

In the early 1980s, Perrins appeared in several hardcore pornographic films under various pseudonyms such as Angelika, Heaven St. John, and Angel St. John. She then returned to mainstream cinema, starring in films such as "The Lost Empire", "Repo Man", "Biohazard", and "The Wizard of Speed and Time".

Death

Perrins Pettidjon passed away on February 14, 1992, in Las Vegas, due to cervical cancer.
