He had a childhood filled with experiences in the Philippines, Singapore, and France. When it was time to pursue his education, Angus returned to Britain and enrolled at the University of Edinburgh and the Central School of Speech and Drama in London.
Early Career
Angus started his acting career with the role of Philip in the television film "The Lost Language of Cranes" in 1991. The film revolved around a young man (played by Angus) trying to come out as gay to his parents. The role of Philip's father was portrayed by Scottish actor Brian Cox. Angus then went on to participate in projects such as the TV movie "15: The Life and Death of Philip Knight" in 1993 and the TV show "Takin' Over the Asylum" in 1994, where he played a sales agent running a radio station in an institute. These early steps played a significant role in Angus' future career.
Breakthrough and Success
In 1995, Angus achieved a breakthrough with his role as Robert the Bruce in Mel Gibson's epic film "Braveheart."
