Anja Pärson is a Swedish alpine skier, Olympic champion in slalom in 2006, and a seven-time world champion. She was born on April 25, 1981, in Umeå, Sweden.

Early Life and Career

Anja Pärson followed in the footsteps of her older sister, Frida, and began skiing at a young age. Her father, Anders, has been her coach throughout her career. She made her debut in the World Cup on March 15, 1998, in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, competing in the slalom giant. By that time, she had already won the junior world championship.

Successes in the World Cup

On December 3, 1998, at the age of seventeen, Anja Pärson achieved her first victory in the World Cup on the slalom course in Mammoth Mountain, United States. At the age of nineteen, she won her first world championship title in slalom in St. Anton am Arlberg, Austria. In total, she has won seven gold, two silver, and two bronze medals at the world championships. Pärson is the only skier in history who has won world championship titles in all disciplines.

Olympic Achievements

Anja Pärson's Olympic success includes one gold medal in slalom in 2006, along with a silver and a bronze medal in Salt Lake City and two bronze medals in Turin.
