Anna Karin Zidek, also known as Anna Karin Ulofsson or Anna Karin Ulofsson-Zidek, is a Swedish biathlete and skier. She was born on November 7, 1973, in Östersund, Sweden. From an early age, Anna Karin began skiing and developed a passion for sports.

Early Career

In 1993, Anna Karin joined the Swedish junior ski team and competed in the Junior World Championships, but did not achieve significant results. Despite her efforts, she struggled to secure a spot on the national team and mainly participated in national tournaments, the European Cup, and Swedish stages of the World Cup.

Transition to Biathlon

In 2002, Anna Karin made a transition from skiing to biathlon. Her debut in biathlon was successful, finishing sixth in a European Cup stage. She quickly progressed and started participating in the World Cup. However, her shooting skills initially held her back. Despite the challenges, Anna Karin worked diligently to improve her shooting, and in the following season, she achieved her first podium finish and won a medal at the World Championships.
