Anna 'Anni' Christina Friesinger-Postma was born on January 11, 1977, in Bad Reichenhall, Bavaria, West Germany. She is a German speed skater and a three-time Olympic champion.
Family Background
Anna's father, Georg Friesinger, is German, and her mother, Janina 'Jana' Korowicka, is Polish. Both of Anna's parents were figure skaters, and her mother even competed in the 1976 Winter Olympics. Anna's brother, Jan, is also a speed skater, making the Friesinger family deeply connected to the sport.
Speed Skating Career
Anna Friesinger is a five-time Olympic medalist. She won gold medals in the 1500m race at the 2002 Winter Olympics and in the team pursuit events at the 2006 and 2010 Olympics. Additionally, she has two bronze medals in the 3000m race at the 1998 and 2006 Winter Olympics. She qualified for the German national team in five different speed skating events at the 2006 Winter Olympics, including team pursuit and individual distances of 1000m, 1500m, 3000m, and 5000m.

During her career, Anna Friesinger married former Dutch speed skater and 1988 Winter Olympics champion Ireen Wust. They got married on August 11, 2009, after being in a long-term relationship. Currently, Anna resides in Salzburg, Austria, and plans to move to the Netherlands with her husband to live on their farm. She has also pursued modeling as a side profession and has posed in swimsuits for various publications. Anna is known for her wide hips, which is a common trait among speed skaters.
