Education and Early Career

Anna Kolesnyk is a Ukrainian lawyer and politician who holds a degree in International Law from the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University and a second degree in Administrative Management and Economics from Karazin Kharkiv National University. She worked as a forensic expert at the Kharkiv Scientific Research and Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

Political Career

In 2019, Kolesnyk was the trusted person for presidential candidate Volodymyr Zelensky in Electoral District No. 168 (Kharkiv Oblast). She was elected as a member of parliament for the Servant of the People party in the 2019 parliamentary elections, taking the 94th position on the party list. At the time of her election, she was unemployed and not affiliated with any political party. She resides in Kharkiv.

Kolesnyk was appointed to the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Taxation, and Customs Policy.

Criminal Prosecution

On October 14, 2022, Ukrainian anti-corruption authorities accused Kolesnyk of submitting false information in her income declaration, amounting to over 4.4 million hryvnias. The charges were filed under Part 1 of Article 366-2 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code. The suspicion was signed by the head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO). According to media reports, the suspect was identified as Anna Kolesnyk.

On March 24, 2023, the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine found Kolesnyk guilty of the criminal offense specified in Part 1 of Article 366-2 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code (False Declaration). The prosecution presented evidence that Kolesnyk intentionally failed to declare two apartments in Kyiv worth over 3.5 million hryvnias, as well as a vehicle in her possession, in her income declaration for 2020. The court sentenced her to a fine of 44.2 thousand hryvnias and prohibited her from holding positions related to the exercise of official authority in government agencies for a period of one year.

However, the High Anti-Corruption Court also acquitted Kolesnyk due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.
