Biography of Anna Zadorozhnuk
Anna Zadorozhnuk is a Ukrainian figure skater who is best known for her performances in ice dancing alongside Sergey Verbillo. The duo has been crowned the champions of Ukraine twice. Zadorozhnuk began skating in 1988 and has since become a well-respected name in the world of figure skating.
Training and Achievements
From the 2008-2009 season, Zadorozhnuk and Verbillo have trained under the guidance of coach Alexei Gorshkov, with assistance from Elena Grushina. During the summer, they also undergo training in the United States with Nikolai Morozov. In the 2009 season, the pair achieved a significant milestone by winning their first national championship, surpassing their previous bronze and silver medal finishes. They outperformed their long-time rivals Alla Beknazarova and Vladimir Zuev.
Zadorozhnuk and Verbillo went on to secure the 7th place at the European Championships, which remains their best result to date. At the 2009 World Championships, they claimed the 15th place, earning Ukraine a spot in the ice dancing event at the 2010 Winter Olympics.
In the 2010 national championship, Zadorozhnuk and Verbillo once again emerged as the champions. They then represented Ukraine at the 2010 European Championships, where they finished in 8th place. Subsequently, they were selected to compete for Ukraine in the 2010 Winter Olympics held in Vancouver.
Post-Skating Career
Following the conclusion of their competitive career, Zadorozhnuk transitioned into the role of a choreographer. In the 2011/12 season, she choreographed programs for American singles skater Jolie Forte. Zadorozhnuk's expertise in figure skating and her background in psychology, having graduated from the National Pedagogical Dragomanov University with a degree in coaching psychology, have contributed to her successful transition into this new role.
Today, Anna Zadorozhnuk continues to make significant contributions to the world of figure skating as a renowned choreographer, leaving a lasting impact on the sport.
