Margaret Gwynne Trice, later known as Anne Gwynne, was born on December 10, 1918, in Waco, Texas, USA. She grew up in Missouri and began her modeling career, showcasing fashionable swimsuits for the brand 'Catalina'. After gaining acting experience in local theater productions, Anne arrived at Universal Studios in 1939, where her stunning beauty immediately helped her secure a contract with the company.

Early Career

Initially, Gwynne appeared in westerns, working alongside actors such as Johnny Mack Brown. However, she quickly shifted her focus to horror films, collaborating with Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi, and Lon Chaney Jr. Although she rarely landed leading roles or gained significant recognition in movies, she became quite popular among servicemen who experienced World War II.

Television and Later Years

Following the decline of her film career, Gwynne found limited success in television during the 1950s. She also continued to appear in advertising campaigns. After becoming a widow in 1965, Gwynne's health began to deteriorate, leading her to seek assistance from the Motion Picture & Television Country House retirement community in the 1990s. Her final film, "Adam at Six A.M." directed by Robert Shire, was released in 1970 and starred Michael Douglas.

Legacy

Anne Gwynne possessed the beauty and talent to become a major pop star, but circumstances prevented her from achieving that level of success. Nevertheless, she made a mark as a horror film actress, with her screams ingrained in the hearts of many horror fans. Gilford and had two children.
