Early Career in Budapest Opera
From 1951 to 1961, Tokody served as a soloist at the Budapest Opera. Her notable performances included the premiere of Pal Kadosa's opera "The Adventures of Huszt" and acclaimed roles such as Ulrica in "Un Ballo in Maschera" and Marfa in "Khovanshchina."
International Recognition at Prague Spring Festival
In 1954, Tokody achieved international acclaim by winning the first prize at the prestigious Prague Spring International Music Festival. This triumph brought her widespread recognition.
Return to Finland and Cultural Leadership
In 1961, Tokody returned to her native Finland. She became actively involved in promoting cultural ties between Finland and Hungary, serving as the president of the Finnish-Hungarian Friendship Society.
