Early Life and Career

Anton Amelchenko, a skilled Belarusian goalkeeper, was born on March 29, 1985, in Gomel, Belarus. His passion for football began at a young age, and he joined the Gomel football academy, where he honed his skills under the guidance of his first coach, Yuri Golovei.

Professional Debut and Success at FC Moskva

Amelchenko's professional debut came in 2004 when he joined the main squad of his hometown club, FC Gomel. During his two seasons with the team, he made a total of 20 appearances in the Belarusian championship. In 2006, he transferred to FC Moskva in Russia, where he initially played for the reserve team. However, his impressive performances earned him a spot in the first team, and he made his Russian Premier League debut in 2007.

Breakthrough at FC Rostov and Loan to FC Terek

A significant turning point in Amelchenko's career came in 2010 when he signed a three-year contract with FC Rostov. He quickly became a pivotal figure for the team, helping them secure a respectable seventh-place finish in the league and earning the honor of being named the club's Player of the Year. After a short loan spell at FC Terek in the 2012/13 season, Amelchenko returned to FC Rostov.

Return to Rostov and Contract Disputes

Despite his success at FC Rostov, Amelchenko's time with the club was marred by financial issues. In 2015, he terminated his contract due to unpaid wages. He briefly joined FC Fakel, but that association also ended abruptly.

Retirement and Personal Life

In July 2017, Amelchenko made the difficult decision to retire from professional football due to health problems. He has since devoted his time to his family, which includes his wife, Veronika, and their daughter, Sofia, who was born in 2012.
