Anton Kol
Anton Kol is a Ukrainian swimmer who has achieved significant success in Paralympic swimming competitions.
Career Highlights
Kol is a Master of Sports of Ukraine in international class. He represents the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Center for Physical Culture and Sports for the Disabled, known as "Invasport."
In 2016, Kol made history at the Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro by winning a bronze medal in the 50m backstroke (category S1) and a bronze medal in the 100m backstroke (category S1).
Prior to the Paralympics, Kol had also earned accolades at other major competitions. In 2013, he won a silver and bronze medal at the World Championships. In 2014, he added a silver and bronze medal to his collection at the European Championships. In 2015, he became a double silver medalist at the World Championships.
Personal Life
Despite his success in swimming, Kol has faced challenges outside of the pool. He uses a wheelchair for mobility. However, this has not hindered his pursuit of his passion for swimming.
Before becoming a Paralympian, Kol worked briefly as a construction technician. He holds a diploma in construction and was involved in the design of several buildings in Dnipro.
Recognition and Awards
Kol's achievements have been recognized with prestigious awards. In 2016, he was awarded the Order "For Courage" III degree for his perseverance, dedication, and determination in achieving athletic excellence at the Paralympic Games.
