Biography of Allison Schmitt

Allison Schmitt, an American swimmer, is a talented athlete and a participant of the 2008 Olympics. Currently, she is a member of the United States National Team, representing her country at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Schmitt is considered to be one of the most promising swimmers in the sport.

Early Life

Allison Schmitt was born on June 7, 1990, in Pittsburgh, PA, into a family of an analyst and a manager. Despite her parents' distant connection to sports, her siblings are extremely athletic individuals. For example, her older brother Derek excels in swimming and is a part of the Ohio University team. Her older sister is involved in sports in Florida, and her younger sisters spend seven days a week participating in various sports activities.

Before focusing on swimming, Schmitt actively engaged in other sports such as soccer, ballet, basketball, softball, hockey, and even attended ballet school. Eventually, she decided to fully commit to swimming and quickly achieved remarkable results, participating in various international competitions. Schmitt is currently a member of the Club Wolverine (CW-MI).

Education and Achievements

Schmitt attended High School Canton, where she graduated in 2008 with impressive achievements. She is regarded as a highly promising athlete, as demonstrated by her past competition results. In 2006, she won a bronze medal at the Junior Championships. In the same year, while still in High School Canton, Schmitt was honored with the title of Michigan High School Swimmer of the Year. The following year, she became a medalist in the National Championship and achieved several significant victories.

When the time came for the Olympic trials, Schmitt gave her best performance to secure her spot in the U.S. National Team. Her efforts paid off, and she was included in the list of team members selected by the Olympic Committee. Her coach, Ed Weber, considers Schmitt to be a great swimmer and a potential Olympic medalist. Furthermore, in addition to her strength and ability, she is an ideal support for the team.
