Early Life and Club Beginnings

Born in Argentina, Antonio Barijho began his professional football career with Huracán in 1993. Known for his attacking prowess, he made a name for himself as a prolific goalscorer in the Argentine Primera División.

Boca Juniors: A Golden Era

In 1998, Barijho joined Boca Juniors, a club on the cusp of a legendary period in its history. As part of a star-studded team that included the likes of Juan Román Riquelme and Martín Palermo, Barijho played a pivotal role in Boca's success. He contributed to the club's three consecutive Argentine Primera División championships (1998-2000) and the historic 2000 Copa Libertadores triumph.

International Accolades

Barijho's time with Boca Juniors was marked by international glory. In 2000, he was among the club's top scorers in the Copa Libertadores, helping them secure the coveted continental title. The following year, he helped Boca win the Intercontinental Cup and another Copa Libertadores.

Moving Abroad

Seeking new challenges, Barijho left Boca Juniors in 2002 and joined Swiss club Grasshoppers. In his one season there, he scored 12 goals in 22 appearances, demonstrating his continued goal-scoring ability.

Later Career

Barijho's career took him to Russian club Saturn in 2004, but his adaptation was not as successful. The following year, he returned to Argentina to play for Banfield. His final professional seasons were spent with Huracán (2007-2008) and Deportivo Merlo (2009), where he ended his playing days.
