Biography of Antonio Cavoli

A Catholic priest of the Salesian congregation, Father Antonio Cavoli was born in Mariniano, Rimini in 1888. He was ordained in Rimini on March 1, 1913. From 1915 to 1919, he served as a military chaplain. At the age of 32, he became a member of the Salesian congregation and made his perpetual vows in Perugia in 1925. In 1926, Father Cavoli joined the first missionary expedition led by Father Vincenzo Chimatti to Japan. In 1928, he became a parish priest and mission director in Miyazaki. He founded the congregation "Sisters of Mercy of Miyazaki" in 1937. In 1926, he was awarded the Order of the Sacred Treasure by the Emperor of Japan. Father Cavoli passed away in Tokyo on November 22, 1972.
