The renowned Italian composer emerged from the esteemed Conservatory of Bologna, having trained under the tutelage of Franco Alfano. Initially influenced by Alfano and Ildebrando Pizzetti, his musical trajectory evolved, embracing the principles of Neoclassicism.
Teaching Career
Beyond his compositional prowess, the composer dedicated his time to education. He imparted his knowledge in Rome before assuming leadership positions at the Conservatory of Pesaro (1950-1952), the Conservatory of Cagliari (1953-1955), and the Florentine Conservatory (1956-1970), shaping the musical minds of aspiring young musicians.
Film Music
The composer left an enduring mark on the silver screen, contributing to the musical scores of numerous films during the 1930s and 1950s. Among his notable contributions are "Knyazhna Tarakanova" (1938) by Fyodor Otsep and Mario Soldati, as well as several works for Augusto Genina.
