Early Life and Education
Antonio Violante earned his degree in soil chemistry and biogeochemistry from the University of Naples Federico II in 1969. Throughout his academic journey, he engaged in research internships at the University of Wisconsin (1976-1977) and the University of Saskatchewan (1981-1982).
Academic Career
In 1986, Prof. Violante was appointed as the Professor of Agrochemistry at the University of Naples Federico II. His tenure at the university was marked by several significant roles, including:
Dean of the Faculty of Agrochemistry (1994-2000)
Coordinator of the PhD School in Agrobiology and Agrochemistry (1990-2002)
Additionally, he served as a Visiting Professor at the University of Saskatchewan in 1985, 1992, and 2003.
International Recognition
Prof. Violante's expertise gained international recognition through his role as the Head of Commission 2.5 of the International Union of Soil Sciences (IUSS). In 2007, he was invited as a keynote speaker at the 2nd International Scientific Conference on Modern Problems of Soil Contamination at Moscow State University.
