Biography of Anthony Delon
Anthony Delon, a French-American actor and the son of Alain Delon, was born on September 30, 1964, in the Cedar Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. His parents, Alain Delon and his second wife Nathalie Delon, returned to France when he was one year old. In 1968, Alain and Nathalie Delon divorced, and Anthony primarily grew up with his godfather, art agent Georges Beaume, as his mother dedicated herself to her acting career.
Growing up as a rebellious teenager, Anthony's parents sent him to a boarding school in the suburbs of Paris, the Monsel School in Jouy-en-Josas, when he was ten years old. After spending two years there, he decided to run away and walked approximately thirty miles to return home in Paris. He attended a public school in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. At the age of fourteen, Anthony decided to live with his father, while his mother Natalie moved to the United States. He enrolled in the Charlemagne Institute on Boulevard Saint-Germain, a renowned institution known for its strictness. However, he was expelled after a year for misconduct and provocation. His father then sent him to a boarding school in Jouanville-le-Pont, Val-de-Marne, which was known for its strict rules. The school had concrete floors and cameras on each floor. He left the institution at the age of seventeen.
Career
At the age of 18, Anthony, known for his aggressive nature, found himself on trial for car theft and spent a month in prison. However, after his release, he turned his life around and ventured into business, selling leather goods, which earned him the title of the most successful young entrepreneur in Paris. However, Anthony's interest in business waned, and a few years later, he moved to New York to actively pursue an acting career. It is worth noting that he did not receive any support from his father and made a name for himself in the industry. At the age of 21, he landed his first leading role in the film "Heartbeat."
While fans of Alain Delon believe that his son couldn't match his father's talent, Anthony's career indicates otherwise. In 1997, Anthony starred in the drama series "Desert Heat" and played one of the central roles. In 2007, the film "Dance with Him," featuring Delon and Mathilde Seigner, was released, followed by "Polisse" in 2011, which received the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival. His most recent work in his filmography is the comedy "Love Is Not Love" released in 2017 on Valentine's Day. For many years, Anthony struggled to accept the shadow of his famous father, and the Delon name sometimes hindered his pursuit of happiness in his personal life. However, recently there has been a shift towards reconciliation in the relationship between the legendary father and son.
In addition to his acting career, Delon Jr. developed a passion for racing at a young age. He also became interested in Buddhism and nature conservation.
Personal Life
Delon has been in relationships with Princess Stephanie, actress Valerie Kaprisky, and Mathilde Seigner, the younger sister of actress Emmanuelle Seigner. On June 27, 2006, he married Sophie Clerico, and they have two daughters together - Lou (born on February 4, 1996) and Liv (born on August 25, 2001). However, they separated in 2012.
In July 2019, he began dating actress Sveva Alviti. In September 2020, they announced their engagement in an interview with Paris Match. In 2021, Delon revealed that they had called off the engagement. In his autobiography, Anthony Delon acknowledges that he has an illegitimate daughter named Alison Le Borgne (born on September 4, 1986) from an unofficial relationship with dancer Marie-Helene.
