Anthony Grade, the current Chief Designer at AvtoVAZ, was born in France on February 16, 1957. Although he was born in France, Grade has Russian roots. His mother was born in England, while his grandmother was a Russian immigrant. Grade completed his education at the Charles de Gaulle Lyceum in London. He then went on to study at Coventry University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Arts.

Early Career

In 1979, Grade began his career as a designer at Ford in England. After seven years, he continued working for the same company but in Germany. In 1988, Grade started collaborating with Renault Design and soon became the head of the project for the first generation of the Renault Laguna. Over time, Anthony was appointed as the Vice President of Design Projects at Renault.
