Biography of Apollo Robbins

Apollo Robbins, an American magician and entertainer, earned the nickname "The Gentleman Thief" because he always returns what he steals. For him, theft has become a sport, in which he undeniably excels. According to Robbins, once you can open any lock, it becomes tiresome and you no longer steal every day. So, there is no need to fear him. Instead of pursuing selfish motives, Robbins chose a different path, studying human memory and perception. In his numerous television appearances, he aims to prove that anyone can fall victim to a thief, requiring only a pair of nimble hands, an endless supply of jokes, the ability to quickly engage different types of perception, and, of course, charisma.

Born in 1974 in Plainview, Texas, Apollo Robbins discovered his talents at a young age. He used to accompany his brothers on "shopping trips" to stores, where he would often get caught by adults. However, at the last moment, he would manage to hide the stolen item, usually slipping it into an adult's clothing. According to Robbins, the best place to hide something is right under the seeker's nose. As he grew older, he began learning new tricks, playing with cards and chips. However, the idea of theft eventually repelled him, leading him to study human thinking and ways to outsmart it.

It is no secret that most of the time, people do not think about their actions. But when faced with a serious problem, their brains start working intensively, attempting to process information as quickly as possible. Robbins' methodology revolves around overloading people with information through various channels of perception, leading to complete mental confusion, and then ruthlessly emptying their pockets. From an outsider's perspective, it may seem like a mere prank: people smiling on stage while Robbins repeatedly performs his tricks and pockets their belongings. However, there is no magic involved; it is all cold calculation and complete control over the "victims" who become hostages not only to their decency but also to their own consciousness.

Apollo Robbins

Apollo Robbins gained significant fame after stealing all the documents from a security agent's pocket who had once worked for former U.S. President Jimmy Carter. When the documents were returned, authorities became seriously interested in the young man. Robbins eventually obtained a position as a security agent, but not for high-ranking individuals. Instead, he worked in a prison, studying the behavior and tricks of real thieves. Once his talent came to light, newspapers made him a national sensation. He began appearing on various shows, interacting with the audience and hosts live on air. At the end of each performance, thanks to cameras, everyone could witness Robbins' tricks.

Interestingly, despite being aware that a thief is standing next to them, who will attempt to rob them, none of his victims managed to catch Robbins in the act. They merely shrugged when their rings, wallets, watches, and money appeared from his jacket.

In 2006, Robbins founded Whizmob Inc, a company dedicated to preventing fraud and training security agents in precautionary methods. In 2013, he appeared in eight episodes of the National Geographic channel's show "Brain Games," where he demonstrated how easily one can deceive a person and their consciousness on camera. The episodes explaining the brain's workings and demonstrating that focusing on one thing causes a loss of control over other senses became quite popular. For example, it is most difficult to find glasses when they are already on your nose.

Today, Apollo Robbins resides in Las Vegas, Nevada. He continues his research, this time focusing on casino players.
