Biography of April Steiner Bennett
April Steiner Bennett is a well-known American athlete, a track and field athlete who has won numerous medals and represented the United States in the 2008 Olympics. Her main discipline is pole vault. Currently, April is being coached by the experienced Brian Compton. Bennett is a member of the popular sports club Adidas.
April Steiner Bennett was born on April 22, 1980, in Mesa, Arizona. She started participating in sports at a young age and still remembers how challenging it was to train in the beginning. April attended Mountain View High School, where she excelled not only in academics but also in sports, frequently participating in various track and field competitions. After high school, she enrolled in Paradise Valley Community College, which she graduated from in 2000. Soon after, she became a student at another institution, the University of Arkansas, where she completed her athletic career in 2003.
The highlights of April's athletic career include her participation in competitions of various levels, including international events. In 2004, she finished fifth in the Olympic Trials and twelfth in the USA Indoor Championships. That same year, she competed in Boston and Flagstaff. The following year was exceptionally fruitful for the athlete, as she participated in events such as the USA Outdoor Championships (sixth place), Kansas Relays (first place), San Diego (bronze medal), Reebok GP (first place), Shanghai (fourth place), and Tyson Invite (fourth prize).
In 2006, April Steiner Bennett achieved sixth place in the USA Outdoors and first place in the Kansas Relays. She also finished sixth in the pole vault competition at the Reebok Grand Prix that year. In 2007, her participation in athletics competitions proved to be highly successful. April competed in the USA Outdoors, Pan Ams, and also impressed at events in Fayetteville and the Pole Vault Summit. The year 2008 was a significant one for the pole vaulter. She triumphed in the Olympic trials and secured second place. Subsequently, she was selected to represent the United States in the Olympics in Beijing.
