Ariel Gold was born on May 26, 1996, in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Growing up in a town known for its ski resorts, she was introduced to snowboarding at a young age. With her natural talent and passion for the sport, she quickly progressed and began competing in local and regional competitions.

At the age of 16, Gold made her mark on the international snowboarding scene by winning silver medals in both the halfpipe and slopestyle events at the 2012 Winter Youth Olympics.
