The renowned French playwright was the sibling of Jules Cohen. From 1855 to 1865, he held a significant position in the French government, culminating in the publication of his comprehensive work "Studies on Taxes and Budgets of the Principal States of Europe" in 1865.

Literary Contributions

Upon his departure from government service, the playwright embarked on a prolific career as a writer of light comedies. His collaborations with renowned authors such as Edmond Gondinet, Ernest Grenet-Dancourt, and Albin Valabrègue produced numerous acclaimed plays. Additionally, he penned the poetic novella "Frappant!" (1887), which skillfully mimicked the themes and style of the celebrated Provencal poet Gustave Bénadit.
