Early Life and Musical Beginnings
Artem Umrikhin,born on December 9, 1985, in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, embarked on his musical journey at the tender age of 11. Inspired by the hip-hop lyrics of "Malchishnik," a neighborhood boy, he recorded his first music in 1997.
The Rise of "Karaty"
In 2003, Umrikhin moved to Kyiv, where he established himself as "Artik" and the founder of the hip-hop group "Karaty." The group gained recognition in 2004 with their "Platinum Music" and "Dirty Music" compilations and was nominated for "Best RnB/HipHop Group" at the ShowBiz AWARD in 2005.
Karaty's critically acclaimed debut album, "No Copies," released in 2007, earned them the "Best Album of the Year" award from RnB FRESH AWARDS and "Patipa RnB Awards." Subsequent collaborations with Dima Klimashenko and L'One further solidified their position in the Ukrainian music scene.
"Artik & Asti": A Match Made for Success
A pivotal moment in Umrikhin's career came in 2010 when he discovered the vocals of the unknown singer Asti. Together, they formed the duo "Artik & Asti." Their breakthrough single, "My Last Hope," catapulted them to popularity in Russia, with the music video garnering over a million views within months.
Over the years, Artik & Asti have released chart-topping albums such as "Paradise for Two" (2013), "Here and Now" (2015), and "No. 1" (2017). Their collaboration with Marselle on the hit single "I Will Not Give Up" further cemented their status in the industry.
Production Prowess
Beyond his musical career, Umrikhin has also excelled as a producer. Notable collaborations include the hit songs "Above the Ground" (T-Killah and Anastasia Kochetkova) and "Let Go" (Dzhigan and Yulia Savicheva), the latter earning him the prestigious "Golden Gramophone" award.
Personal Life and Family
Artem Umrikhin married Ramina Ezdovskaya in 2016. Together, they welcomed their son Ethan in 2017 and their daughter in 2019.
