Origins and Early Influences
Artur "Artik" Umrikhin was born on December 9, 1985, in the Soviet Union. Growing up, he listened to a diverse range of music, including rock and hip-hop. Inspired by the tracks of the group "Malchishnik," Artik began composing his own rap songs and recording them on a cassette player.
Rise in the Music Industry
In high school, Artik formed the band "Karaty," which gained popularity in local clubs. After graduating, the group relocated to Kyiv, Ukraine, and released their debut album, "Platinum Music." Artik also collaborated with other artists under the pseudonym "Artik," working with the likes of Yulia Savicheva, Dzhigan, and Quest Pistols.
The Birth of Artik & Asti
In 2010, Artik sought to create a new musical project and began searching for a female vocalist. After listening to Anna "Asti" Dzyuba's recordings, he extended an invitation to her to join forces.
Early Success and Debut Album
The duo adopted the name "Artik pres Asti," which was later shortened to "Artik & Asti." Their first single, "Antistress," was released in 2012. Their debut album, "#RaiOdinNaDvoikh," followed in 2013, featuring the hit track "Myaya poslednyaya nadezhda."
Continued Growth and Acclaim
Artik & Asti's subsequent albums, "Zdes' i seychas" (2015) and "Nomer 1" (2017), solidified their popularity. They received numerous awards, including the "Golden Gramophone" and a nomination for "Best Promotion" on the Russian musicbox channel.
Recent Collaborations and Chart Success
The duo has collaborated with other artists, including the group "Marseille." Their recent hit "Pakhnu lish' toboy," released in collaboration with singer Gluk'oza, has garnered millions of views.
Personal Lives and Current Projects
Artik is married to Ramina, with whom he has a son named Ethan. Asti is in a relationship but has not publicly disclosed the identity of her partner. The duo continues to work on new music and is currently preparing to release a new album.
