Arthur Kogan, an Israeli chess grandmaster, was born in Chernivtsi, Ukraine. At the age of two, his family relocated to Israel, where he spent over two decades. Currently residing in Tarragona, Spain, Kogan has also lived in France, Prague, Switzerland, Ljubljana (Slovenia), and Budapest.

Early Success

Throughout the 1980s and into the early 1990s, Kogan emerged victorious in numerous city championships in Israel, including Bat Yam, Holon, Rishon LeZion, and Petah Tikva.
