Biography of Arya Permana
The World's Fattest Child from IndonesiaArya Permana, the world's fattest child, was born in West Java, Indonesia. For several years, Arya's parents, Ade and Rokaya Soemanti, overfed their beloved son, unaware of the consequences. Arya's constant eating and sedentary lifestyle left him perpetually tired and apathetic. He would spend hours lying in a small pool when he wasn't eating or sleeping.

A Life-Saving Operation
Realizing that their son needed a drastic intervention, Arya's parents agreed to a life-saving operation to curb his insatiable appetite. At 190 kg, Arya became the youngest patient to undergo a gastric sleeve surgery, which removed a large portion of his stomach, reshaping it into a banana-like form. The five-hour procedure performed by Dr. Handi-Wing was deemed one of the most severe cases of obesity in the world.

A New Lease on Life
Following the surgery, Arya's eating habits significantly changed. He began eating less and feeling fuller for longer periods. Without timely intervention, Arya's obesity could have potentially shortened his life expectancy. The doctors expect Arya to lose an additional 100 kg over the next 12 months.

A Change in Diet and Lifestyle
Before the surgery, Arya adhered to a high-fat diet, consisting of fried chicken, rice, noodles, and chocolate ice cream. Despite medical recommendations for a low-fat diet and exercise, Arya remained resistant to change. His parents continued to indulge him with fatty curries and cholesterol-rich snacks, such as salted anchovies and hard-boiled eggs.

A Determined Future
Now on a long journey to regain his health, Arya has already envisioned a future where he can engage in activities he previously couldn't. He plans to play with friends in the pool, join football games, and ride bicycles. Arya's determination and the life-saving surgery have provided him with hope for a healthier and brighter future.
