Early Life and Education

Asad Asadov, a renowned Azerbaijani pilot and national hero, was born on March 22, 1956, in the village of Turabad, Zangelan district. He received his primary education at the Minjivan Secondary School. Later, he embarked on a journey to pursue his passion for aviation and enrolled in the Krasnokutsk Civil Aviation Flight School in the Saratov region of Russia.

Military Career

Upon graduating from flight school in 1986 with a bachelor's degree in Flight Operations, Asadov returned to Azerbaijan and joined the Yevlakh Civil Aviation Administration. However, the outbreak of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict ignited a fire within him, and he answered the call of duty.

Heroism and Sacrifice

Asadov's exceptional piloting skills and unwavering courage made him an indispensable asset in the conflict. He frequently flew into combat zones and navigated out of perilous situations with remarkable precision. On October 29, 1991, a tragic event occurred when Asadov's An-2 aircraft was shot down while transporting fighters to the Stepanakert airport. Asadov lost his life alongside the crew and the soldiers onboard.

Posthumous Honors

In recognition of his heroic sacrifice, Asad Sultan oglu Asadov was posthumously awarded the title of National Hero of Azerbaijan by Presidential Decree No. 337 on November 25, 1992. His legacy lives on through the Turabad Village Secondary School and the main street in the Minjivan settlement, both of which bear his name. Asadov's grave is currently located in Zangelan, where he is laid to rest with the highest honors.

Asadov was a devoted family man who left behind a loving wife and four children. His bravery and sacrifice continue to inspire generations of Azerbaijanis and serve as a testament to the selfless heroism of the Azerbaijani people in the face of adversity.
