Asia Carrera, an American adult film actress, was born on August 6, 1973, in New York. She chose her stage name by combining two names: Asia, because she is of Japanese descent, and Carrera, in honor of the actress Tia Carrere.

Early Life and Education

Asia's father was a Japanese immigrant who moved to New York after World War II, while her mother was German. As a child, Asia showed exceptional intellectual abilities and excelled academically. At the age of 16, she participated in a student exchange program and taught English to children in a Japanese school. She also displayed remarkable musical talents and started performing piano concerts at Carnegie Hall in New York at the age of 13. However, Asia felt restricted by her parents' strict supervision and at the age of 17, she ran away from home, only to return later. Her parents decided to continue her education and sent her to college.

Entry into the Adult Film Industry
