Early Career
Stanimir Borbosov is a Bulgarian footballer renowned for his midfield prowess. He began his career playing for modest teams, namely "Sokol" in Plovdiv and "Olimpik" in Teteven.
Rise with Litex Lovech
In 1999, Borbosov made a significant move to the then reigning Bulgarian champions, Litex Lovech. He spent four years with the team, establishing himself as a pivotal player.
Stint in Bulgaria and Russia
After his tenure at Litex, Borbosov joined Naftex Burgas. In 2005, he embarked on a new adventure, signing with FC Tom Tomsk in the Russian Premier League. During his time there, he garnered attention for his controversial interview with the Bulgarian sports newspaper "7 dni sport."
Return to Bulgaria
Despite playing only one game for Tomsk in 2006, Borbosov was purchased by PFC Levski Sofia. However, he struggled to break into the starting lineup and eventually joined FC Terek Grozny in early 2007.
Success with Terek
With Terek, Borbosov contributed to their promotion to the top flight by securing second place in the Russian First Division in 2007. An amusing incident occurred during a 2007/08 Russian Cup match against Ural Yekaterinburg, where the match was delayed for 10 minutes due to Borbosov's refusal to remove his wedding ring.
Later Career
In 2008, Borbosov moved on to Al-Salmiya in Kuwait, ending his notable footballing career.
