Atillo García was a distinguished Argentine-Uruguayan striker who left an indelible mark on Uruguayan football.

Club Career

García's golden years were spent with the renowned club Nacional, where he led the team to an astonishing eight Uruguayan Championships. He also holds the record for the most goals scored in a single Uruguayan season (52 in 1938), as well as the most goals scored against Nacional's arch-rival Peñarol (34), including a remarkable four-goal performance in a derby match on December 8, 1940. In total, García netted an incredible 486 goals in the Uruguayan league.
