Biography of Evan Jogia
Evan Tudor Jogia, a Canadian film and television actor, gained wide popularity in 2010 when the Nickelodeon TV series 'Victorious' premiered. In the show, Jogia played the role of the heartthrob Beck Oliver. After the series ended, he continued to actively work in both television and film. In 2017, he starred in the comedy-drama film 'The Year of Spectacular Men'.

Early Life and Family
Evan Tudor Jogia was born on February 9, 1992, in Killarney, a suburb of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He owes his unique appearance to his father, who is of British-Indian descent, and his mother, who has English, Welsh, and German roots. Evan has an older brother, Ketal, who has made a career as a music producer in London, and a half-sister, Melissa, from his father's side. Jogia attended Killarney Secondary School but left in 10th grade to focus on his acting career. He considers Sir Ben Kingsley and Tim Curry, who impressed him with his role as Long John Silver in 'Muppet Treasure Island', as his idols.

Early Career
Before leaving school, Evan had already appeared in four television projects. His debut role came in 2006 when he was just 14 years old, in the TV film 'A Girl Like Me: The Gwen Araujo Story', where he played the role of Gwen's younger brother, Danny Araujo. He then had small roles in the TV movies 'Devil's Diary' (2007) and 'Gym Teacher: The Movie' (2008), as well as the TV series 'Aliens in America' (2007, 3 episodes). After the TV movie 'Spectacular!' (2009) and a minor role in the series 'Caprica' (2009-2010), Jogia appeared in the series 'Victorious' (2010), his first major project. He portrayed Beck Oliver until 2013, appearing in 57 episodes. Jogia also reprised his role as Beck in a special three-part crossover episode of the series 'iCarly' titled 'iParty with Victorious' (2011).

Career Highlights
Alongside 'Victorious', Jogia appeared in films such as 'Finding Hope Now' (2010, his feature film debut), 'Finding Hope' (2010), 'Alex' (2011, a short film where he also served as director, writer, and producer), and 'Rags' (2012). In 2011, he entered into his first public relationship with actress Zoey Deutch. After 'Victorious', Jogia decided to move away from the 'pretty boy' image associated with teen dramas. He landed the lead role in the ABC Family series 'Twisted' (2013), playing the character Danny Desai, a 16-year-old who returns to his hometown after serving a five-year sentence for the murder of his aunt. After a classmate is murdered, suspicion falls on Danny, a young man with a troubled past who decides to find the real killer to clear his name. Jogia's portrayal of a reluctant sociopath received critical acclaim, and he was nominated for Teen Choice Awards in 2013 and 2014 for his performance in the series.

Recent Projects
Jogia's recent projects include films such as 'The Drowning' (2016), 'Shangri-La Suite' (2016), and 'Edge of the Knife' (2017), as well as the web series 'Last Teenagers of the Apocalypse' (2016). He also directed and wrote the short film 'Of Dogs and Men' (2016) and co-starred in the mini-series 'Tut' (2015) alongside his idol Ben Kingsley. In 2016, Jogia and Zoey Deutch ended their relationship but remained friends. In 2017, he is set to appear in four projects where he has either the lead or a major role: the comedies 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' and 'The Year of Spectacular Men', the romance film 'Paper Year', and the science fiction series 'Ghost Wars'.

Activism
Apart from his acting career, Evan Jogia is an active advocate for social change. In 2011, he co-founded the non-profit organization 'Straight But Not Narrow' with Heather Wilk and Andre Pochon, with the support of actor Josh Hutcherson. The organization aims to change public attitudes towards sexual minorities, including gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender individuals. Jogia believes that homophobia is a significant issue in modern society, and their organization works to bring awareness to it.
Evan Jogia's fans can be proud of his talent, determination, and resilience.
